Would you like to avoid the one small thing that can sneak up on you and ruin your life?

Have you ever been late? Karen Joy Fowler said, "Arriving late is a way of saying that your own time is more valuagble than the time of the person who waited for you.”

Have you ever been grateful for hitting two minutes of traffic on your way to a meeting that you were going to be fifteen minutes late for so you could say, “I’m sorry I’m late, I hit some traffic on the way?”

COVID-19 has taken a lot of things from us and one of them is most of our excuses for being late.  What do you say now? "I’m sorry I’m late, there was a two laundry basket pile up in the hallway getting to my computer for the Zoom call."

People are almost always late for the same reason. They didn’t stop doing what one thing early enough to arrive on time to the next thing. They didn’t mean to belittle people, they just didn’t stop answering emails or talking to someone or sleeping soon enough to get to their next thing.

Arthur Guiterman said, A man consumes the time you make him wait in thinking of your faults - so don't be late!

Trust is the foundation of every relationship and people are much less likely to trust people who don’t keep their commitment to be on time.

This week stop doing the thing you’re doing before your next meeting, ten minutes before you actually need to stop. And if it turns out you didn't need to reboot your computer or reset your modem for your Zoom call use the 10 minutes to mentally prepare for your meeting.

I think you’ll find that you’ll increase your lead.
